Tutoring FAQs

  • Some warning signs include difficulty getting started, sloppy homework, and overall disorganization. Other signs are personality change, diminished self-esteem, or a lack of interest in learning.

  • Working with a tutor can be beneficial to your child by strengthening academic skills, mastering new concepts, preparing for an exam, and building crucial study habits for academic success in school and life.

Huntington also partners with local schools to offer high-dosage tutoring, which is a one-on-one or small group tutoring in a regular and consistent schedule.

  • The initial evaluation includes several multi-disciplinary assessments that identify academic pain points and tell us where and why your child is struggling. It allows us to build a personalized learning plan that identifies the total number of hours needed for success. Then, we can tell you how long the program will take and work with you to develop a weekly tutoring schedule.

  • Our tutors have degrees from four-year colleges, plus either state or Huntington certification. Centers are accredited by the Middle States Association — the same organization that accredits the vast majority of U.S. schools.

  • After the academic evaluation, we discuss the results with you during an initial conference. During this meeting, we fully explain our cost structure, competitive hourly rates, and flexible payment options.

  • Yes! We have about 300 Huntington Learning Centers conveniently located across the country.

Aside from in-person tutoring, Huntington also offers online tutoring, including test prep for ACT and digital SAT. Huntington’s digital SAT program is tailored to meet the demands of the digital age. Using advanced data analysis, students receive personalized learning paths that identify strengths and weaknesses, allowing for focused and efficient preparation.
