From District Leader to Local Education Champion: Dr. Tanicka Robeson’s Journey to Huntington Learning Center in Greensboro

After 17 years in public education leadership, Dr. Tanicka Robeson knew one thing for certain. Her heart was still in direct student impact.

Today, she brings that passion and experience to Huntington Learning Center of Greensboro, where she now serves as owner and education advocate for families across the community.

A Career Built From the Classroom Up

A Huntington franchise owner with shoulder-length, twisted hair wears patterned glasses, gold jewelry, and a leopard-print blazer over a beige top, smiling against a white background.Originally from Landover, Maryland, Robeson’s path to franchise ownership was anything but conventional. An AB Honor Roll student who later earned a degree in engineering, she initially explored corporate America before realizing her calling was elsewhere.

“I always loved working with children,” she shared. “Even as a teenager, I was volunteering and working as a camp counselor. That never left me.”

Encouraged by a friend in education, she began tutoring math. That step led to a full career in public education, where she served as a teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, principal, and ultimately district administrator.

Through each role, she gained a full understanding of the education system, from daily classroom instruction to school leadership and district-wide strategy.

“I’ve seen education from every angle,” Robeson said. “I understand both the opportunities and the challenges students face.”

Returning to Direct Impact

While serving as a district administrator, Robeson began to feel a pull back toward more direct interaction with students.

“In a school system, there’s only so much you can do,” she explained. “I wanted to create a space where students feel comfortable asking questions, building confidence, and receiving the individualized attention they deserve.”

Franchise ownership with Huntington Learning Center offered exactly that opportunity. It allowed her to combine her deep educational expertise with the autonomy to build a structured, safe, and personalized learning environment.

At Huntington Learning Center of Greensboro, Robeson is focused on helping students strengthen foundational skills while building confidence that carries beyond the classroom.

“Academic success starts with confidence,” she said. “And confidence grows in a safe environment.”

A Vision for Growth and Community Impact

Robeson’s commitment extends beyond one center. Her long-term vision includes expanding access to high-quality supplemental education throughout the region, ensuring that more families have access to structured academic support.

She understands firsthand that many students need additional reinforcement beyond the traditional school day. With nearly two decades in education leadership, she recognizes where gaps can emerge and how personalized programs can help close them.

For Robeson, Huntington represents more than a business investment. It is a continuation of her life’s work.

“I wanted to provide a place where students who may have fallen through the cracks feel supported and empowered,” she said. “When students feel confident and capable, they can pursue their goals without distractions.”

Continuing Huntington’s Mission

Huntington Learning Center’s personalized programs, measurable progress tracking, and strong family communication align seamlessly with Robeson’s leadership philosophy. Her experience across every level of education uniquely positions her to guide students and families with both empathy and expertise.

As she leads the Greensboro center forward, her focus remains clear. Create a place where students feel safe, supported, and capable of achieving their fullest potential.
