The Huntington Learning Center in Rockford has been helping students here since 1987. Our center is accredited by Middle States Association. We are members of the Rockford Area Chamber of Commerce, Transform Rockford, and Alignment Rockford. Workforce Connection is another important partner, helping adults improve their literacy and academic skills. Community involvement and support are so important to us. We are proud to work with adults on the path to the GED and also those working toward teacher certification. We tutor K-12 students in fundamental academic skills such as math and reading comprehension. Several of our students have improved their reading more than 4 grade levels in a matter of months. We also help students preparing for the ACT and SAT. Students who work with us average a 4-5 point improvement on the ACT, and in the last 2 years, we have had several who improved 7 points. We also have helped a number of students qualify for scholarships. We work with students from public schools in Rockford, Belvidere, Harlem, Hononegah, Rockton, Roscoe, Prairie Hill, Winnebago and Byron, as well as from private and parochial schools Rockford Christian, Christian Life, Keith Country Day, Rockford Lutheran and the Rockford Diocese.
