Academic Skills - Skills for School Success

What are Academic Skills?

Academic Skills are those school skills that all students in every grade need to succeed in school. They include reading, math, language, and study skills. Click here for more.

How do I know if my child needs help with Academic Skills?

A child in any grade, K-12, or college and adult students, may need help with Academic Skills if:

  • Your child's teacher tells you that your son or daughter is a day dreamer or a class clown.

  • Your child's teacher tells you that your son or daughter is a social butterfly.

  • Your child was retained.

  • School personnel suggest a child study team evaluation or that your child should be classified.

  • Grades are not where they should be.

  • Homework is a battle.
